  • Wheatgrass is best used to make a fresh juice for daily detox and nutrition

Steps to Grow Microgreens and Wheatgrass

  • Prepare the Seeds:
For wheatgrass, wash the wheatberries and soak them in water for 12 hours. Then sprout them for another 12 hours using a jar or muslin cloth.
For radish and alfalfa, soaking seeds is optional. You can plant them directly or soak for 2–3 hours to speed up germination.
  • Prepare the Growing Medium:
Slowly add up to 3 litres of water to 1.5 kg of cocopeat, mixing gradually as you go. Allow the water to absorb fully, creating a moist, fluffy, and even growing medium. Once it's evenly hydrated and crumbly to the touch (not soggy), spread it smoothly across your growing tray with holes.
  • Sow the Seeds:
Spread the sprouted wheatgrass seeds or microgreen seeds evenly and press them lightly into the cocopeat.
  • Initial Cover and Germination:
Sprinkle water gently over the seeds. Cover the tray with another tray (without holes) or a lid to create a dark, humid environment. Set aside for 2 days, checking 2-3 times daily. Keep the medium moist by misting water if it feels dry, but avoid overwatering.
  • Exposure to Light:
After 2 days, uncover the tray and place it in indirect sunlight. Keep the growing medium moist by watering regularly. For easy watering, you can use the bottom-watering method by placing the tray without holes into a shallow tray filled with half an inch of water.
  • Growth and Harvest:
All of them will be ready in 7-10 days
  • Harvesting:
Use scissors to cut the microgreens or wheatgrass just above the roots. For best freshness, use immediately. Store your harvested microgreens in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep them fresh for up to 7 days.

Know What You're Growing
Each type of seed in this kit has its unique flavour, health benefits, and growing time:

  • Radish Microgreens
They are among the fastest-growing, ready to harvest in just 5–6 days. They have a spicy, earthy taste and a satisfying crunch, making them perfect for salads, soups, and stews. Despite their small size, these greens are rich in vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, and are believed to be up to 30 times more nutritious than their fully grown version.

  • Alfalfa Microgreens:
Alfalfa sprouts are a nutrient-rich “Living Food” with a mild, nutty flavour and crisp texture, perfect for salads, wraps, soups, curries, and satvic cheelas. Ready in 6–7 days, they are packed with vitamins A, C, E, and K, and are also 30 times more nutritious than mature vegetables.

  • Wheatgrass Seeds: Wheatgrass is well-known as a detox superfood and is a type of edible grass that takes just 7–10 days to grow. It's full of chlorophyll, enzymes, iron, magnesium, and other vital nutrients. Consuming a small amount of freshly juiced wheatgrass on an empty stomach each morning can help cleanse the body, improve skin health, and increase energy levels. Growing it at home gives you fresh access every day and helps you avoid alternatives like wheatgrass pills or bottled juices.

How to Prepare Wheatgrass Juice?

  • With an Electric Juicer:
Put a bunch of freshly cut wheatgrass into the juicer. Let it do the work and enjoy your fresh juice.
  • With a Mixer or Blender:
Add the cut wheatgrass with a little water and blend well. Then strain the juice using a clean cloth or nut milk bag. Drink it within 15 minutes for the most health benefits.

Storage:
Keep in a cool, dry, and dark place away from sunlight and moisture.

Shelf Life:
Best before 12 months from the date of packaging.

Wheat grass seeds & tray are perfect

I made few changes for better harverst, 24 hours soaked in water, 2 days tied in cloth for sprout. After sprouting first 2 days covered with newspaper. 6-7th day better harvest. Watered every 12 hours little only otherwise fungus forming..

Dear Krishna Ji,

Thank you so much for the feedback. Yes, the soaking period can vary according to the weather conditions & they should be watered only when they seem to be dry. We will surely try this method too.

Gratitude & Regards
