FAQs

I’m switching from chemical dishwash — what change will I notice first?

Most customers notice:
✓ Softer, healthier hands — no more dryness or cracks from daily dishwashing
✓ No harsh chemical smell — which may help avoid headaches & irritation
✓ Cleaner drains over time — bioenzymes naturally prevent buildup and odours
✓ Real peace of mind — knowing there's no toxic residue on your family's dishes

And the planet wins too — upcycled packaging means zero new plastic created.

Why does the natural dishwashing liquid foam less than a regular dishwash?

Firstly, it’s important to understand that more foam does not equal more cleaning. Many chemical dishwashing liquids add extra foam boosters like SLS, SLES & LABSA to make users feel they’re “working,” but foam itself doesn’t remove grease. Over time, advertising by conventional cleaning companies has trained us to equate more bubbles with better cleaning. Our bioenzyme formula is SLS & SLES-free and works at a deeper level—active enzymes naturally break down grease and food residue, so dirt washes away easily, even without heavy foam. We use only mild, plant-based foaming agents like soapberries and coconut-derived surfactants to create a gentle, healthy foam that is completely safe for you and the planet.

Does Satopradhan Natural Dishwashing Liquid work only in warm or hot water, or is it effective in cold water too?

Satopradhan Natural Dishwash Liquid is an enzyme-based cleaner that works effectively even in cold water. While the enzymes in it perform optimally between 30–40°C, warm water is not required for everyday cleaning. For heavily greasy utensils or tough oil buildup, using warm water can enhance performance by helping plant-based enzymes break down oils more quickly. However, for regular dishwashing needs, it delivers effective, eco-friendly cleaning even at room temperature.

Does BioEnzyme dishwashing liquid clean as strongly as regular chemical liquids?

Yes, it cleans equally well — but the cleaning technique is different. Chemical dishwash liquids clean by lifting grease and stains from the surface using harsh surfactants and synthetic chemicals. This creates extra foam and gives an instant shine after rinsing.

Bioenzyme dishwash works differently — it digests and breaks down grease, food residue, and odour-causing particles naturally, just like nature decomposes waste. That’s why it may feel gentler, but it actually gives a deeper clean.

Can this tough grease removal dishwash liquid remove oily masala, haldi stains, and sticky residue?

Yes. Our natural dish soap works well on oil, masala residue, and sticky food residue because they contain natural enzymes like lipase (breaks down oil/grease), protease (breaks down food residue/protein) and amylase (breaks down starch/stickiness like rice/dal paste).

For heavy masala/haldi stains, apply Satopradhan Dishwash Liquid on the utensils, let it stay on them for 10–15 minutes, then scrub and rinse off.

Can this natural dishwasher cleaner remove the smell from dishes (onion/garlic/egg smell)?

Yes. Bioenzymes help break down the leftover food particles that cause a bad smell. For strong odours, simply apply Satopradhan Dishwash Liquid, let it stay for 10–15 minutes, then wash and rinse.

Can the bioenzyme based dishwash liquid clean burnt-bottom utensils?

Yes, but burnt stains need a little time. Soak the utensil in warm water + Satopradhan Bioenzyme Dishwash for 20 minutes, then scrub — the residue loosens easily.

If it doesn’t foam much, how will I know that the plant-based washing-up liquid is cleaning?

Instead of foam, look for these real signs, like removal of stains, loosening of grease or no sticky/oily layer after rinsing. These are better indicators of actual cleanliness than foam.

Can I increase foam by using more of the Natural Dishwashing Liquid?

You can, but it isn’t needed. Bioenzymes clean more effectively with time, not excess quantity. Using more than the recommended amount (as recommended on the label)  just to increase foam won’t improve cleaning. A small amount, given a little time, does the job thoroughly.

Is this eco-friendly dishwasher detergent safe for sensitive skin or eczema-prone hands?

Yes, in most cases. Since Satopradhan Bioenzyme Dishwash avoids harsh chemicals and is 100% non-toxic, it is much gentler on sensitive skin. However, every skin type is unique — if your skin is extremely sensitive or eczema-prone, we recommend doing a small patch test once.

Can Satopradhan skin-friendly dish soap reduce dryness compared to chemical dishwash?

Yes. Regular chemical dishwashing liquids often strip the skin’s natural oils, leading to dryness, cracks, and irritation over time. Bioenzyme herbal dishwash liquid is naturally milder and skin-friendly. It also contains plant-based glycerine, which helps keep hands soft and moisturised even with daily use.

Is the unscented dish detergent safe for baby utensils (bottles, bowls, spoons)?

Yes — absolutely. This is one of the biggest reasons families switch to soapnut dishwashing liquid. It is gentle, non-toxic, and free from harsh residues, making it 100% safe for babies’ utensils when rinsed normally.

Does the non-toxic dish soap work in hard water?

Yes. Hard water may reduce lather, but the cleaning still works fully because enzymes break down grease. For best results, use warm water, let the dishwash stay on for 10–15 minutes before rinsing. Additionally, you can add baking soda while scrubbing.

Is this dishwash concentrate safe for septic tanks?

Yes — bioenzymes are septic-friendly. In fact, enzymes help by breaking down organic waste (like oil, food particles, and residue) into simpler substances, which supports smoother decomposition in septic systems and reduces foul smell over time.

Is lemon dishwash liquid safe for pets at home?

Yes. Bioenzyme-based cleaners are generally safer for pet bowls because they are 100% non-toxic. Still, like any cleaning product, avoid direct ingestion and keep it out of reach.

Can a bioenzyme dishwash expire?

Bioenzymes themselves are stable for long periods, but because we also add mild natural additives for a better experience, after around 9 months, you may notice slight changes in fragrance/colour/texture. The effectiveness remains the same — just store it in a cool place and close the cap tightly after every use.

Why does the sustainable washing-up liquid sometimes settle or separate?

This is normal in natural and fermented formulations. Just shake well before use — quality and cleaning performance remain unchanged.

Is this healthy dishwasher detergent safe for non-stick cookware?

Yes. It is gentle and doesn’t damage coatings. For non-stick utensils, use a soft sponge to protect the surface and maintain the coating's life.

Is the mild dish soap safe for steel, aluminium, copper, and brass utensils?

Yes. It is safe for daily utensils like steel and aluminium. For copper/brass, avoid soaking too long and rinse well, then wipe dry to maintain shine.

Can your earth-friendly dish soap clean glassware without leaving marks?

Yes. Use less than the recommended quantity, rinse well, and for extra shine, finish with a warm water rinse. This prevents streaks and water spots.

This plant-based dishwashing detergent costs more than the dishwash I’ve been using for years — why should I choose it?

Chemical dishwashing liquids only look cheaper on the shelf. But they quietly cost you more later — through health problems for your family and damage to our rivers and environment. What you save in money today, you pay back in health costs tomorrow.

Satopradhan dishwash liquid is concentrated — so it lasts longer. The real value is in what it protects: your family's health. The rivers and lakes your wastewater flows into. Plus, you get it in an upcycled plastic bottle — no new plastic is generated. You're not just buying a dishwash liquid. You're investing in your family's safety and the planet's future.

Will the dishwash concentrate formula attract ants/insects because it is natural?

No. It’s not sugary and doesn’t attract insects. Store it like any dishwash. Close the cap tightly after every use and store it in a cool and dry place.

The scent is different and lighter than what I'm used to — does that mean it's not as strong as conventional dishwashers?

Actually, the opposite is true! Chemical dishwash needs strong artificial fragrances to mask the smell of harsh ingredients like SLS, sulfates, and synthetic detergents. That overpowering scent? It's hiding toxins that can trigger headaches, irritation, or sensitivities for many people.

Bioenzymes are created through a natural fermentation process. Pure bioenzyme solutions have a fermented, slightly vinegar-like smell. This is completely normal and actually a sign that the fermentation is active and effective. It's the smell of nature at work. To make your experience more pleasant, we've used pure essential oils to mask that fermented scent. We're continuously working on perfecting our essential oil blends to enhance the fragrance even further. To eliminate the natural scent would require synthetic fragrances — and we will never use those, considering your safety. Synthetic fragrances can cause headaches, allergies, respiratory issues, and contain harmful chemicals like phthalates.

So if you occasionally notice a mild vinegar-like smell, that's completely normal and actually means it's safe. It's the scent of natural fermentation — proof that you're using a completely toxin-free product.

Will bioenzyme dishwash harm soil microbes if greywater goes into the soil? Can it be used in homes where greywater goes directly into the garden/soil?

Yes — our phosphate-free dishwashing liquid is one of the best options in such homes because it is non-toxic and biodegradable. In fact, enzymes support the natural breakdown of organic matter. However, too much dishwater (even natural) can affect soil due to salt and grease, so moderation and dilution are recommended.

Can I use greywater (dishwashing water) for plants/gardening?

Yes, use only lightly soapy water and dilute it with fresh water before watering the plants.

As a sustainable brand, why do you use plastic to store bio-cleaners?

Bioenzyme cleaners are living, fermented solutions that continue to be biologically active even after bottling. They naturally release small amounts of gas, which creates a challenge:

  • Glass can crack or burst from pressure buildup

  • Metal can rust or chemically react with the acidic formula

  • Food-grade plastic is the only safe, flexible material that won't react with bioenzymes

So while we'd prefer to avoid plastic, the science of bioenzymes makes it the only viable option. As a sustainable brand, we absolutely refused to contribute to the generation of new plastic.

Instead, we chose upcycled plastic bottles — sourcing, cleaning, and reusing existing plastic rather than manufacturing new containers. This approach:
✓ Stops new plastic production
✓ Keeps usable plastic out of landfills and oceans
✓ Saves the massive energy required for manufacturing
✓ Reduces our carbon footprint significantly
✓ Supports a circular, waste-reducing economy

Yes, some of our bottles might look "used" with minor scratches or imperfections — because they are!  The formula inside is fresh and powerful. The packaging outside is our promise to the planet. We hope you'll join us in seeing upcycled packaging not as a compromise, but as a conscious choice for a better future

Can Satopradhan bioenzyme dishwash liquid be used for dishwashing machine?

Satopradhan bioenzyme dishwash is primarily designed for manual dishwashing, but it can be used in a machine. However, we would like to inform you that we have not personally tested the effectiveness of our bio-enzyme dishwash in dishwashing machines. As a result, we cannot guarantee the same performance and results as when using it for manual dishwashing. Dishwashing machines have specific requirements and may differ regarding water temperature, detergent distribution, and overall washing process. These factors may affect the performance of our bio-enzyme dishwash in a machine. If you decide to use our bio-enzyme dishwash in a dishwashing machine, we recommend conducting a small test load to assess its effectiveness and compatibility with your specific machine. This will allow you to determine whether it meets your expectations and delivers satisfactory results.
