Our current brushes are designed for adults and older children who brush independently. The handle size and bristle firmness are optimised for adult use. For younger children or toddlers, we recommend choosing a kids' specific size. If in doubt, consult your child's dentist before switching.

PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) is a synthetic material widely used for toothbrush bristles. It is known for being durable, hygienic, and consistent in performance. Most conventional toothbrushes use nylon bristles. Nylon absorbs more water, stays damp longer, and tends to fray faster. The colours you often see on bristle tips come from synthetic dyes, and many nylon bristles also contain BPA and added chemicals to improve flexibility.

Our bristles absorb less water, dry faster, and hold their shape and softness for the full life of the brush. They are BPA-free and completely free from added dyes and chemicals. It does not leach harmful substances, it does not irritate gums, and it meets standard safety requirements for daily oral use.

Is it perfect? No, it is still a synthetic material and not biodegradable. But compared to what most people are already using, it is a safer choice.

Yes. The soft bristles are gentle on gums and enamel, making them well-suited for people with sensitivity. They provide effective cleaning without excessive abrasion. If you have specific gum concerns, we always recommend checking with your dentist — but for most people with sensitive gums, a soft-bristle bamboo toothbrush is a comfortable, everyday choice.

Yes. Bamboo naturally has antimicrobial properties, which makes it a good material for a bathroom environment. The bristles also have low water absorption, meaning they dry faster and stay more hygienic between uses. With regular rinsing and proper storage, a bamboo toothbrush is just as hygienic as a conventional one.

Not if stored correctly. The key is to keep it in a dry, open, well-ventilated spot; not in a closed container or lying flat where water can pool. Let it air dry fully between uses, and it will stay clean and fresh throughout its life.

About 2 to 3 months, which is the same as a conventional toothbrush. Replace it when the bristles start to fray or lose their shape.

Once your brush is ready to retire, remove the bristles using a pair of pliers — they need to be separated as they cannot be composted. Then take the bare bamboo handle and place it in your home compost bin, bury it in soil, or leave it in a green waste collection if available in your area.

Bamboo is a dense material, so it will take longer to break down than food waste, but it will decompose fully and naturally over time. To speed things up, you can snap or cut the handle into smaller pieces before composting.

Not entirely. The bamboo handle is 100% biodegradable and can be composted at home. However, the bristles contain PBT as one of their ingredients—a durable synthetic material that is not biodegradable. We recommend removing the bristles before composting the handle.

To be transparent, truly compostable or fully plant-based bristles that meet global oral care standards are not yet widely available at scale—either in India or globally. Based on current research and industry practices, PBT is considered a more reliable and hygienic option than conventional nylon-based bristles. Meanwhile, we are continuously exploring better end-of-life solutions for our toothbrushes as part of our ongoing commitment to improvement.
