What is PBT, and why have you used it?

PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) is a synthetic material widely used for toothbrush bristles. It is known for being durable, hygienic, and consistent in performance. Most conventional toothbrushes use nylon bristles. Nylon absorbs more water, stays damp longer, and tends to fray faster. The colours you often see on bristle tips come from synthetic dyes, and many nylon bristles also contain BPA and added chemicals to improve flexibility.

Our bristles absorb less water, dry faster, and hold their shape and softness for the full life of the brush. They are BPA-free and completely free from added dyes and chemicals. It does not leach harmful substances, it does not irritate gums, and it meets standard safety requirements for daily oral use.

Is it perfect? No, it is still a synthetic material and not biodegradable. But compared to what most people are already using, it is a safer choice.
